Did you know? All presentations related to the upcoming bond vote can be found on the district’s website, www.gardencity.k12.ny.us, including a video slideshow that includes renderings of the proposed projects.





Did you know? The total cost of the projects that are being proposed on Feb. 13 is approximately $23 million. The district is recommending that $5.34 million be allocated from two capital reserve funds and $17.66 million to come from bonding. If approved by voters, the project would not result in any additional cost to residents, as the projects would be funded through the two existing capital reserve funds and the bond that is tax neutral. Please remember to vote on Feb. 13!

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, students artistically reflected the principles of Dr. King's teachings. As part of the celebration, all student entries are published online at https://www.flickr.com/.../collections/72157722425546255/




In addition to the construction of the innovative fitness center at Garden City High School, the tax-neutral bond proposal includes the installation of a new turf field at the high school, as well as the installation of turf on the high school baseball and softball infields.


In the area of athletics, the upcoming tax-neutral bond proposition includes the construction of a new state-of-the-art fitness center at Garden City High School, including a concession stand and new outdoor restrooms. These renderings show different perspectives of the space!







As part of the tax-neutral bond proposal, 28 new parking spots would be created at Stewart for parents and staff to help ease the current traffic congestion. This is in addition to the many other improvements planned in the areas of academics, student and staff well-being, and athletics. Please remember to vote on Tuesday, Feb. 13!

To enhance student and staff well-being, the tax-neutral bond proposal that will be presented to voters on Feb. 13 includes the installation of air conditioning in several areas throughout the district, including cafeterias at the high school, middle school and elementary buildings, as well as the main high school gymnasium. Air conditioning would also be installed in all primary K-1 classrooms.

These renderings are an example of the innovative space.



At the Board of Education meeting on Dec. 5, the Board officially adopted a resolution to move forward with presenting a tax-neutral bond referendum to the community for vote on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for improvements centered on education, student and staff well-being and athletics. Please save the date! Polls will be open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. in the Garden City High School gymnasium.
