At their March 19 meeting, the Garden City Board of Education congratulated James Nagler and Elaine Wang for being recognized as the 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Also honored were winter student athletes for their outstanding achievements: Erin Gately (Rifle Nassau County Champion), Joe Bonomi (Track 600M State Qualifier). Jen Roller, Taylor Maguire, Kyra Lekanides, and Sophia Erigo (Track 4x800 Relay Nassau County Champions) Lastly, Stratford School teacher aide, Robin Holman was recognized for her exceptional dedication and profound impact on Garden City. Her selflessness, positivity, and ability to connect with students and staff truly make her shine. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to Frau Rupess’ high school German students who participated in the National German Exam and earned accolades!
Gold awards were earned by Justin Woodbine (11th grade) and Sarah Phinney (10th grade).
Silver awards were earned by Rebecca Phinney (12th grade), Elizabeth Rosado (12th grade), Leila Massina (11th grade), and Sara Shamail (10th grade).
Bronze awards were earned by Ava Sethi (11th grade) and Sarah Pogozelski (10th grade).
Achievement awards were earned by Grant Lemieux (11th grade), Evan Rom (11th grade), Daniel Shohdy (11th grade), James Trocchia (11th grade), Meredith Breen (10th grade), Alexander Kamis (10th grade), Sophie Lippens (10th grade), Michael Ragas (10th grade), and Thor Ullrich (10th grade).
Two students were eligible for the AATG study trip award based upon their test score (scoring in the 90th percentile or higher). The students were Justin Woodbine (11th grade) and Sarah Phinney (10th grade).
Congratulations to all of the Garden City high school German students and to their teacher, Frau Rupes, for all of her hard work in preparing her students for these rigorous exams.

GCHS's College Marketing classes and students in the ACE program collaborated on a holiday plant sale to raise money for Camp Anchor. Today, they presented a check for $330 to representatives from Camp Anchor, MaryAnn Hanson, director, and John McKenna, vice president.
The students worked together during their classes throughout the school day to sell the plants to students and staff. They worked on marketing strategies, sales, money management, and customer service skills.
Special thanks to Dr. McKinstry, Mrs. Colwell, and Mr. Sussman for helping to coordinate. Great job everyone!
