Locust students learned about fire safety from Phillip and Rose Huntington, who brought their 1923 Brockway Torpedo as part of Fire Prevention Month. Rose, a retired Locust School teacher, and her husband, Phillip, gave the students a hands-on experience which enabled the children to enthusiastically experience what it was like to be a firefighter in the 1920’s while teaching students about fire prevention and safety.

The Garden City Middle School German club with Frau Rupes, celebrated Oktoberfest. They watched interactive videos about the festival. The students also listened to traditional German music and loved trying the German Pretzels and German Apeflschorle. Their favorite though was learning and dancing the traditional chicken dance. A fun time was had by all!
