In observance of Memorial Day, Garden City schools are closed today, May 27, and tomorrow, May 28. As we enjoy this holiday, let us remember and honor the brave heroes who have sacrificed for our country.

We are thrilled to announce that Kaitlyn McDonald and Amanat Jain, two of our talented 9th grade students, have been awarded Gold Keys in the prestigious Scholastic Writing and Art Awards! 🥇✨
📖 Kaitlyn's short story in the fiction category tells the compelling tale of two rival sisters who attempt to reconcile on the day of a major event.
📝 Amanat's essay in the memoir category is a heartfelt reflection on her experience during Covid-19 and moving to the US.
Both students are now advancing to the national level of the Scholastic Competition. They join an impressive list of past winners, including literary giants like Truman Capote, John Updike, and Joyce Carol Oates.
Special thanks to their inspiring English teacher, Samara Skolnik, for her guidance and support.
We are so proud of you, Kaitlyn and Amanat! Keep shining!

Good morning and welcome to another week, Garden City!
Please remember to vote on 5/21 - and a reminder that schools ARE OPEN on Friday, 5/24.
