Garden City Police Department visits Stratford Avenue School for police week celebration

On May 14, the Garden City Police Department visited Stratford Avenue School in recognition of National Police Week. Commissioner Kneisel, Detective Steve and several officers spent time at the school, giving students the opportunity to personally thank them for their continued service, dedication and commitment to the community.
In preparation for the visit, students throughout the building created handmade cards and drawings for the officers to take back to the precinct to show their appreciation. Students and staff also wore blue or police department apparel in support of the day.
The visit included a question and answer session, during which students engaged with members of the department and learned more about their roles and responsibilities. The day concluded with the presentation of thank-you cards from students across the school.
Garden City Schools extends its gratitude to the Garden City Police Department for their partnership and continued service to the community.
