On Nov. 18, 14 fourth grade students from Stratford School and Stewart School performed with students from all over Nassau County as part of the P.E.A.K (Parents, Educators And Kids) music festival. The festival is the fourth grade prelude to the Division 1 All-County Music Festival and allows students to explore the joys of project performance-based learning.
Stratford and Stewart students participated in a collaborative day of music making, playing in workshops such as musical escape room, cardio drumming, body percussion bonanza, and ukulele jam, as well fun with folk dancing. Students and parents alike were invited to participate, making it even more of a fun, engaging experience for all. The day culminated in a final concert performance at Freeport High School.
Students in attendance included Nicholas Chi, Luke Ellis, Pierce Hayes, Annalee Miller, Rhys Murphy, Declan O’Grady, Olivia Owens, Ariana Pinto, Charlotte Stiehl, Ansley Teng, Julia Terzulli, Ella Viskovich, Priscilla Yang, and Samantha Yang.
