Garden City Middle School

In Frau Susanne Basile’s sixth grade German class at Garden City Middle School, students embraced an authentic German tradition by creating "Schultüten." These colorful, cone-shaped containers are typically gifted to first graders in Germany on their first day of school, filled with supplies like pencils, crayons and treats. While learning about this custom, students enjoyed filling their own Schultüten with goodies, symbolizing a fresh and exciting start to the school year. The activity encouraged cultural understanding while sparking excitement for learning.
