Garden City Public Schools kicked off the new academic year on Sept. 3, welcoming students back with enthusiasm and excitement. Superintendent Dr. Kusum Sinha expressed her gratitude, stating, "We were thrilled to welcome our students back for a year full of growth, excitement, and discovery."

This summer, district staff, from administrators to teachers, dedicated their time to preparing for the new school year. Their efforts ensured a smooth and successful start, continuing Garden City’s tradition of educational excellence. The district also welcomed 24 new teachers and support staff, who are excited to contribute to the success of Garden City students. Additionally, the grand opening of renovated libraries at Stewart and Stratford Schools marked a significant enhancement, designed to inspire creativity and a love for reading.

A highlight of the upcoming school year is the district's "One District, One Book" initiative, featuring “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt. This program encourages meaningful conversations on youth mental health and well-being, and the district looks forward to continued community engagement through upcoming discussions.

As the year begins, Garden City Schools invites parents and community members to stay connected through ParentSquare and the district website for updates and resources.
