Stratford Second Graders Receive New Books
Mrs. Joyce, a second grade teacher at Stratford School, was awarded a grant from Jovia Financial Credit Union through the Funding Your Ideas teacher grant program. This program provides member-educators with funding to support innovative classroom projects that enhance student learning.
With the grant, Mrs. Joyce expanded her classroom library by adding more series books, enriching the Book Club unit. During this unit, students work in groups to explore multiple books from the same series. Some of the new additions to the library include “Dodsworth,” “Dragon Girls,” “Dragon Masters,” “Flat Stanley,” “Iris & Walter,” “Mercy Watson,” “Mr. Putter & Tabby,” “Pinky & Rex,” “Princess in Black” and “Yasmin.”
Students are excited to begin reading their new books!
